LATEST NEWS (2/3/2014)

This past weekend was another strong one for Corning PAL wrestling.  After a season's worth of hard work, our Elementary wrestlers finished off the season with a HUGE 2nd Place overall team finish at the Nor Cal Elementary Championships in Willows.  The 2nd Place trophy was another groundbreaking achievment for the program, and was anchored by 11 total medalists, 5 of whom won Championships!  A few of our wrestlers are moving on to compete at the State Championships and other post season tournaments, but for the majority of the team, this was the season finale.  Great work everyone!

In Chico, at the Chico Challenge, Chase Aulabaugh and Nathan Shults shined for Corning PAL, securing 1st Place finishes in their weight classes.  This was one of the toughest TOC Qualifiers in the North State, so this was a great accomplishment!

This weekend, our Varsity athletes will be competing at the League Championships at Corning High School.  In addition, some of our Elementary wrestlers will head to Vacaville for the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.  Info on these tournaments will be posted once they become available.  Coach Luis is encouraging all wrestlers not heading to Vacaville to come out Saturday to Corning High to  support our Varsity wrestlers as they make their way to the section championships.

A team party is currently being planned for February 25th.  We will be letting everyone know what the time and location of the party will be in the next week.  If you have completed your season and haven't yet turned in your equiptment (singlet, headgear) please do so ASAP.
